Whatever shall we name this thing?

I could be waaaayyy ahead of things here (I find I very often am), but I've been wondering about some names that would fit the Library Project. I realize that it might not really be possible (or necessarily wise) to choose one this early in the development process, but at the same time, I wonder if thinking about a name might help us as we create the Library, as a kind of mission statement. I think I'm also inspired by having seen the SDSU Ed Tech department always try to give some acronym to major projects, as a mnemonic device.

I'm certainly not thrilled with some of the following names, but I think they'll illustrate where my thought process is going. Here are some EXTREMELY rough ideas:

SOFIA: ancient Greek word for "wisdom;" Shared Online Free Information Archive

SOPHIA: (alternate spelling) Shared Online Pepperdine Historical Information Archive

SOCIUS: Latin word for "sharing;" Shared Online Community of Information & Understanding

SCIENTIA: Latin word for "knowledge;" Shared Community of Information/Explicit aNd Tacit Information Archive

Any other thoughts?

Design /Procedural Models

I'm starting this post as a potential cache of design and/or procedural models that we may have come across in other contexts. I'm doing so because if the library project DOES indeed become a formal paper/presentation one day, we'll have to refer to our "method." Perhaps considering existing models might help start us on that path (and gives us a chance to apply some of what we're learning as well!).

For example, I was pretty well indoctrinated with the ADDIE Instructional Design Model by SDSU's Ed Tech department. ADDIE is an acronym for "Analyze, Design/Develop (may be done in either order, or concurrently), Implement, and Evaluate (or Extend)." I've also seen it used with alternates of basically the same terms (i.e. Analyzing, Designing/Developing, Implementing, Evaluating, etc.). Regardless of the terms used, ADDIE's been around for quite a while, and I wondered if anyone else has come across it. I found this site that explains it pretty well, IMHO:

Any other suggestions? Thanks!
